Gill Branston
Gill Branston worked for The Arts Council, Trident Television and was PA to the legendary dancer Dame Margot Fonteyn de Arias, DBE for three years before joining the staff of Cosmopolitan Magazine in 1981.
Starting as PA to the editor, she began organising events for the magazine - staff parties, a Dance Award and then regular reader events. In 1984 she went freelance and, following the success of the reader offers, in 1986 she was invited to take over the magazine's PR and bring it in-house. For two years she successfully handled PR as well as running the reader events for the magazine.
When in 1988 The National Magazine Company, Cosmopolitan's parent Company, set up a Corporate Communications Department, Gill was appointed Special Projects Executive to run events for the whole Company. In 1989 Gill realised her long-term ambition and started her own Company, Gill Branston & Associates.
In June 2009 Gill was featured in YOU magazine, writing about organising her daughter's wedding from the perspective of a professional events organiser. To read the article click here.
